About Us
My family has had dogs for as long as I can remember; from my grandparents' Rough Collie (Poncho) up to our current three Australian Shepherds. We have had several different breeds including Dalmation, Shih Tzu, and German Shepherds.
In 1993, my family purchased our first Australian Shepherd, Roo (Outbacks Victorias Dingo CGC). Roo was the dog we had when I met my husband. When we bought our current house with a fenced in yard, naturally I wanted a dog. Jason preferred a dog just like Roo, so we called Valerie from Cossack Kennel here in Connecticut. Valerie picked out a Jennie daughter for us, Kelso (Cossacks Dark Angel). Kelso was my first "show" dog and her breeder was an amazing mentor!
While Kelso was growing up, Roo and I went to obedience classes with Donna Crowley of Durendal Dog Training, where we met Pam Kilby and her Borzoi. Pam helped us get started in competitive obedience. With Donna's and Pam's guidance, Roo and I earned our CGC and two legs toward her ASCA CD. Roo later retired to Maine with my parents and Donna retired from Durendal. Pam found us another trainer in Harwinton, Diane Dodge.
After several months of training with Diane, I found out that she also bred Aussies! In 2002, her bitch Dodgee was bred to Miles and it was then I met Ivy (Meri Mors Conversation). After a year of begging Diane to let me have Ivy, she finally came home with me in July 2003. At the same time, Jason and I were raising a puppy for my parents, RooB (Outbacks Asenath Tempest).
I continued to train and show both Kelso and Ivy for several years in several venues. In 2005, my parents lost RooB and we found them another dog, Utah (from Hemlocks Aussies). Utah was looking for a new home. Sharon was an angel and let him go live with my parents - THANK YOU SHARON!
In 2010, after several years of looking for our next puppy to show, Diane called me and let me know that her bitch, Chorus (who is also Kelso's aunt) was having a litter sired by Polo (owned by Alicia Campbell). In August 2010, we brought home Cora (Meri-Mors Madrigal). In hopes that she will be the foundation bitch for our line, we have named our "kennel" in her honor. Thanks to Diane (Meri-Mors), Alicia & Morgan (Moonstone) and Emmy (Terra-Blue) for helping us out with Cora.
